Becoming a Scrum Master

About the course

This is a 2-day course that covers the principles and (empirical) process theory underpinning the Scrum framework, and the role of the Scrum Master in it. This course is a combination of instruction and team-based exercises from real-life examples, and teaches what is at the heart of the Scrum and Agile movement. 


The course also includes a free attempt at the globally recognised Scrum Master Level I certification exam from Scrum.org.  


Target audience


This is for anyone involved in software development using the Scrum framework. It is particularly beneficial for those people within an organisation accountable for getting the most out of Scrum, including Scrum Masters, managers, and Scrum Team members. 


No pre-existing knowledge of Scrum is required to attend.

Learning Outcomes

  • Learners can act as a Scrum Master for Scrum Teams as well as stakeholders from an in-depth understanding of servant-leadership.

  • Effectively be able to start up Scrum or increase its effectiveness if already underway.

Assessments & Certification

In order to gain globally recognised certification, learners will be required to pass the Scrum Master Level I certification exam from Scrum.org. This is an open book 60 minute exam with 80 multiple choice questions and requires an 85% pass mark. The course fee includes one free attempt of this exam.
